• 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 5 young children suffer from Asthma.
• Asthma is a common, disabling, distressing, mis-understood, life threatening and TREATABLE!
• Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease (COPD), such as Emphysema, affects a large number of people over the age of 50
• Hospital admissions for Asthma are down 82% since Open Airways established the successful island-wide Asthma Eduction Program in Bermuda.

As a Charity we aim to:

• Provide specialized education in asthma and other respiratory problems such as emphysema.
• Educate individuals, their families and the community about respiratory diseases and to promote self management where possible.
  
• Act as an advocate and lobbyist for people with respiratory diseases, particularly those who are most vulnerable and disenfranchised, to improve access to quality care.
  
• Provide basic necessary equipment for effective treatment for those in need.
